Largo, FL (September 1, 2009) SeaChanger, designer and manufacturer of the colorBUG handheld wireless color and light sensor, will release a new colorBUG professional application for photographers, videographers and lighting designers.
colorBUG measures CIE color values and illuminance for use in a wide variety of applications. In concert with free software downloaded from the iTunes App Store, it allows users to wirelessly share data with their iPhone or iPod touch, making color analysis simple and convenient. Smaller than a typical mobile phone, colorBUG is completely portable and features a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery, mini USB connectivity and a sleek, rugged design. The colorBUG can be mounted on walls and other fixtures to assist in taking measurements remotely or hands-free.
The new application will provide GPS coordinates and time/date stamps of light readings, which is especially useful for shooting still or moving images over several days to maintain color and light continuity. In addition it will suggest filter selections based on the ambient lighting conditions. Camera filters are transparent or translucent optical elements that alter the properties of light entering the camera lens for the purpose of improving the image being recorded. Filters can affect contrast, sharpness, highlight flare, color, and light intensity, either individually, or in various combinations.
